What are the roles of the Fairbanks North Star

- The Fairbanks North Star Borough will use current security technology
to protect your on-line information, including powerful data encryption
and PIN authentication.
- Every attempt is made to ensure the information provided is accurate.
- Access can only be provided to you through the use of a borough
networked computer as secure data currently resides only on the borough
Intranet.
- You must have a borough ID and logon password in order to acquire a
PIN to access and use this service.
- Information will be updated bi-weekly at the midnight prior to payday
and prior to the first working day of every month.
What is my role in maintaining security?
- Protect your personal Intranet information by not revealing your PIN
to anyone.
- Don’t walk away from your computer if you are in the middle of a
session.
- Always close your browser when you have completed your employee
services session.
- Change your PIN regularly .
Are you sure my account information is secure?
Can anyone else access it?
- No one can access your account unless they are on a borough networked
computer and unless they know your borough logon ID, your borough logon
password and your employee services PIN. You need to carefully safeguard
all of this information and don’t share it with anyone. To prevent
others from viewing the account information on your screen, be sure to
securely log off before leaving your computer.
How do I get a PIN number?
- If you are an active borough employee, who has access to a borough
networked computer and you have been assigned a log on name and password
by Computer Services you can do the following:
- Enter the Human Resources website.
- Go to the Payroll section.
- Click on "Select a PIN."
