The Land Management department is responsible for the acquisition, management and transfer of real property owned by the borough.

The department issues all leases, licenses and other agreements for the use of the Borough's land and resources. The department conducts the annual land sale program making land available to the Borough's residents through subdivision and recreational development as well as large parcel sales. These sales generate revenue which in turn supports the continuing sale program. The department is also responsible for the annual Tax Foreclosure Program which helps to keep individual property owner's taxes down through the collection of delinquent property taxes.

 Former Solid Waste Recycling Center Assessment Grant

-Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives - Public Comment Period (3/26/07 thru 4/27/07) - CLOSED

The pubic comment period for the Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives for the former Universal Recycling, Inc. site located at 400 Sanduri Street, Fairbanks, Alaska has concluded.  No substantial public comments or concerns were received. 

The Fairbanks North Star Borough had determined that Alternative #4, Drum and Debris Removal and Disposal, as defined in the Waste Disposal Plan dated 3/20/2006, best meets the project goals of redevelopment of site and return to productive use, while reducing risks to human health and the environment.  As a result, the Waste Disposal Plan has been selected as the final cleanup plan for this site.
