FNSB Department of Public Works

 


 

The Department of Public Works is charged with the responsibility to maintain, upgrade, and build new facilities which are under the ownership of the Fairbanks North Star Borough. These projects include schools, roads within service areas, and many other types of general Borough facilities. This requires careful prioritized long-range planning, a well-maintained facilities condition inventory, coordination with user groups and building managers, and proficient project management. Overall, the Department networks as a management team utilizing the expertise of each individual for the various projects. The resource of this highly competent team of professionals ensures the integrity of the Borough’s many facilities. We also provide safe, quality, cost-effective public facilities, service area roads, parks, and solid waste management; refine the facilities plan for coordinating and administering major maintenance and capital projects to ensure proper and efficient use and development of Borough facilities.
