The Parks and
Recreation Department, through partnership with the Nordic Ski Club
of Fairbanks, offers the Birch Hill Recreation Area and the Jim
Whisenhant Cross Country Ski
Trail system for recreational use. The Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks
maintains the trail system and hosts the facility's races. For more

Reservations are now being accepted for facility use.
Summer Season Hours of Operation:
Building open by reservation only
Park hours - 7:00 A.M. - 10:00 P.M.
Winter Season Hours of Operation:
Monday thru Friday: 12:00 P.M. - 9:00
P.M.
Saturday: 8:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.
Sunday: 10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.
Cold Weather Closure - due to low usage during extreme cold temperatures -25 degrees or colder the Cross Country Ski Center will not be open. At this temperature the trail lights will be shut off. The warm up hut will remain open.
