Tanana Valley Railroad Engine #1 is the feature display in Pioneer Parks' newest facility, the Tanana Valley Railroad Museum. Engine #1, restored by
Friends of the Tanana Valley Railroad over a ten year period, operates in the Park on a limited
schedule.
Assembled in 1899, Engine #1 is the oldest operating steam locomotive in Alaska and the Yukon Territory, and the oldest Gold Rush Era artifact in Fairbanks.
