What We Do
Fairbanks North Star
Borough works with parents, child care providers, and community
members to ensure that families have access to quality child care.
We do this by providing
resources and training opportunities for providers to continue
to develop their professional skills. For parents, we provide
free referrals and information, so that they
have the tools to make informed choices regarding all aspects
of care for their children.
Fairbanks North Star
Borough, in partnership with C.A.R.E.S
(Children's Advocates, Resource & Educational Services), has
been providing child care information and referrals in our community
since 2000.

There are several ways we can help:

pm.

- Visit us at 520 Fifth Avenue, Suite D (School District
Administration
Center). Walk-in hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am-4:00 pm.
- Get a
referral
request form (pdf). Fax it to 459-1280, drop it off, or
e-mail us at:
Child Care Referral.
The
referral request form allows our referral counselors to
customize your child care list based on your specific needs and
location.
- If you prefer to contact us by mail, our address is at the

is not available, and you need immediate assistance, please

How Are We Funded?
The State
of Alaska Department of Health & Social Services, Divison
of Public Assistance supports resource and referral with federal
child care development block grant funds. No FNSB funds are used
for this program.
