To update an existing document

  1. Before uploading document make sure your new document is named the same name as the one you are replacing.
  2. Using the "File" tab on the ribbon, use the "Upload Document" button to upload a the new document, and overwrite the existing old document. This way no metadata will be lost and if there any links they won't be broken either.
  3. If the document needs to be checked  in then do it by clickling on "checked in" button on the ribbon.
  4. Document Cacheing is enabled, inorder to see the new document on a web page sometimes you'll have to clear your broswer cache.

To add a new document

  1. On the ribbon and the file tab, click on the "Upload New Document" button
  2. Find the document, only pdf formatted documents  and upload documents.
  3. Once it's uploaded and you can edit the properties by giving it a meaningful Title, this is what we show on the web page e.g. "Planning Committe Member Registration". Also make sure the document Name is generic e.g. "MemberRegistration.pdf".
  4. If your document is a meeting document type (agenda,minutes or such) or the Title gets updated by a workflow leave the Title blank, a workflow will updated the Title with the Meeting Document Type.
  5. Save
