Service Area Elections

Service Area Elections are held annually in March and November. March elections are held for service areas wishing to increase their mill levy and November elections are held for establishing, annexing, dissolving, or merging service areas. 

A Service Area is a specific geographic area of the borough which receives a higher or different level of service than what is provided on an areawide or non-area-wide basis. Service Areas are separate taxing jurisdictions.

An election is currently underway for the Whitman Service Area. 

Voting - there are two ways to vote:

1) In Person Absentee. Vote in person beginning February 22, 2021 through election day at the Borough Clerk's Office, 907 Terminal Street from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. excluding weekends and holidays.

2) By mail or electronic transmission. Complete a ballot application below and submit it to the clerk's office to have a ballot sent to you via mail, email or facsimile. Note: voting by email requires a person to printout the ballot and oath.
